Hi Neighbor came through Danksgiving with Full Plates

Full Plates – Hi Neighbor at Danksgiving 2024 Review

Oh there is a line out the door……..

We knew we were in the right spot when we saw the big white windmill in the intersection. So following Google Maps we took the long way to get to Danksgiving…..lets just say St. Louis loves its “speed humps” and “speed dips” to slow people down in the streets. So we make it to the spot and whip a U-Turn in the intersection to park almost right in front of the spot. This is already gonna be a good time if the parking was that nice! We get gather all of our equipment to capture the festivities and notice the line starting to form at the door. It just opened up so that could be a good thing or a bad thing. We head to the line and peek inside and notice they are still setting up. We stand outside and watch as vendors and chefs show up last minute to offload their wares. Everyone in line seemed excited for the event. The other people in line with us also purchased VIP tickets to the event which allowed us to sample all of the entries along with letting us in the event 1 hour before the general admission crowd came in. It is a good thing we did because the venue started to get packed with people coming in the door. We got a black and gold wrist band to show we were special and could get the samples. Many of the chefs had additional items for sale at their tables along with the entries for judging. The event was a people’s choice type of award with televisions posted up that displayed a QR code to vote for your favorite dishes. You had to vote for the Best of each: Starter Dish, Side Dish, Vegan/Vegetarian Dish, Dessert, Main Dish, and the MVP. All in all they made sure you had full plates.

It smells amazing in here!

Part of the food we got at Danksgiving

At the door with your wristbands you are given a nice sized paper dinner plate and plastic silverware to eat with. Our plate was still clean by the end of the event as every vendor gave out samples on their own plates as not to cross contaminate entries. We talked with the vendors as we grabbed samples from them. Each chef offered infused samples that did not have a lot of THC per sample which allowed guest to eat the food without consuming too much THC. The event was set up in a Thanksgiving style of dishes. We sampled quite a few dishes from a sweet potato casserole and infused dressing, to gumbo and chicken sliders with homemade sweet Hawaiian rolls. We were looking around trying to figure out how to get more food and samples on our full plates. Almost all of the products that were sampled did not have a strong cannabis taste to them. We only came across one dessert that tasted of nothing but cannabis…….almost like they just put keif in the mix and did not emulsify it into the mixture. One chef offered fried rice and chicken wings that were infused. Did we mention we had full plates of food from all the samples? In the backroom we partook in some vegan sweet potato flavored ice cream and Pot Pecan Pie Brownies. Other vendors there offered gummies, prerolls, and drinks for patrons to buy while they were there.

It’s a Vibe

About 2:00 PM the DJ started to spin up her setlist and get the event jumping. An old soul was channeled for this event as the smooth R&B filled the main hall and spilled over into where the guest were sitting to eat. It only added to ambiance of the event, everyone was starting to get into the groove as the infused food was kicking in for the VIP guests. They started to mix with the general admission crowd and the place started to get really lively. People were lining up to try the Dab bar put on by The Cola Lounge, which was a huge hit. Huge thank you to Stl’s Pot Chefs to putting on a great event and bringing everyone together. They are putting on a Munchie Market December 14th, tickets can be purchased on their website. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram as well. Also check out some of our other post! We had full plates at this event and hope you did as well. Leave us a comment here or on Youtube when it is posted 11/30/24.
