Happy Trees season finale – The Harvest
This is what we have all been waiting for! The end of the growing season for Happy Trees. We could not be more pleased with how this grow turned out. New equipment was purchased. A new set up was tried. New nutrients used. So many different variables being changed. How would the grow turn out?
New grow new you?
This new run in the grow series brought us closer to the set up we are looking for. Something low maintenance and low energy consumption. We made the choice this time to switch to liquid nutrients. We picked up Cutting Edge Solutions Louder Powder Grow A&B along with their Bulletproof SI. This was mixed in a 35 gallon trashcan with an Aeromixer mixer. We filled the trashcan up to about 25-30 gallons worth water and mixed in the required doses. The plants spent about 4 weeks under the Grower’s Republic light until they overcrowded each other. We let the plants run free to see how they grew and responded to the new light. Fire Purp loved the light and was the tallest out of the bunch. We moved that one under the Growcraft X6. Fire Purp continued to stretch until it reached about 2 inches below one row of lights.
So what made the biggest difference?
We really won’t know until we let it fully dry and cure. Don’t worry, Clutch has been pinching off little pieces to ensure they are drying well enough before cure. I can safely report back that there is no harsh hay smell or taste. During the drying you can smell the change in dry points. One day the room smells of wet leaves and plants, the next it smells of dank. To combat humidity we had to have a dehumidifier running to pull all of the extra moisture out of the air. Downside is it is a warm air dehumidifier. It dries the air but also raises the room temperature slightly. We trimmed the plants and hung them on clothing racks we bought off Amazon for under $30 bucks. We spent a little more for the extended reach. It becomes useful when you need to keep bushy plants separated.
What’s next?
We plan on trying some different extraction methods. We did look at washing as a possibility. We don’t know at this point but we will keep you updated on what we try.
